Spyderfest: Souvenirs from the road

Spyder 5 Ambassador Lamont Bryden always enjoys bringing home souvenirs from his road trips. His visit to SpyderFest proved to be no different. Read about the interesting things he picked up in the local stores and shops in Cuba, Missouri:

Something that’s important to me when it comes to road trips is supporting the communities where I stay. I know a lot of folks spent their money in Cuba, Missouri and the surrounding areas. I enjoyed leaving some of my cash in a town that treated us so well and I was just wondering how the rest of you did. Here's a list of what I bought:


When I was at the Outpost Store with the big rocking chair, I saw a really nice bear skull on the fire place mantle and I had to have it. Unfortunately, the gal working said it wasn't for sale and that it belonged to the owner.  She ended up calling the owner and he wouldn’t sell it for any less than $500. So I said fine, “I'll take it.” The gal looked at me like I was crazy, but you have to understand that I go to all these events and I never buy anything for my wife because she is hard to buy for. When I was at Devils Tower last year I brought her an alien skull and she loved it. She has a passion for skulls and she already has two bear skulls, but this one looked a lot bigger. I brought it home and I think she really liked it.


While I was at the Outpost I also stocked up on Route 66 decals and I bought a Route 66 hooded sweatshirt. It's really a neat little shop and I feel I was just doing my part to make sure it will be there next year.


At SpyderFest the only thing I got from the vendors were some Sena SMH10 headsets with two earbud adapters. I have the Cardo Scala Rider now and they work great when they pair up, but I can't always get them to pair up right away and I've heard nothing, but good things about the Senas. I have yet to try them, but plan on it soon.

I guess between fuel, hotel, food and miscellaneous purchases I spent $1000 bucks or so. I will say it was worth every dime I spent just to be with you all and to get a nice ride in. This is therapy to me and it was much needed at the time. So I took home very little material wise, but mental health wise I took home a lot. Believe it or not I need some more therapy as soon as possible. I can't wait to get on the road to the Owners Event in Durango!
